Riding the wave of rapid growth and expanding its lineup of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) services to nine, the EW Scripps company has introduced two fresh channels based on its popular brands, Court TV and Laff More.
Court TV x Scripps
Legendary Trials presents the most captivating and high-profile cases from the past 30 years in the United States, carefully selected from the extensive Court TV archives.
These trials are presented in four-hour chapters, streaming four trials from morning to midnight every Monday through Friday, with weekends dedicated to marathon viewing sessions.
The channel features current Court TV anchors and reporters as guides, providing new commentary, context, and analysis. Among the initial trials featured are the murder cases of Jodi Arias, Wisconsin v. Kyle Rittenhouse, Wisconsin v. Jeffrey Dahmer, and Florida v. Casey Anthony.
On the other hand, Laff More offers around-the-clock comedy with an impressive lineup of sitcoms. Serving as an extension of Laff, the first over-the-air broadcast television network focusing on contemporary comedy sitcoms and movies for adults aged 18-49.
Ethan Nelson, the head of Court TV, expressed his belief that Court TV: Legendary Trials will be embraced by the vast number of true crime fans, given the tremendous interest Court TV’s trial archive has garnered on their website and other digital platforms.
Both Court TV: Legendary Trials and Laff More are currently available on platforms such as Fubo TV, Amazon Freevee, Xumo Play, and Plex. Additional platforms and on-demand options will be announced in the future. Among the other Scripps FAST channels are Court TV, Scripps News, ION, and brand extensions of ION, Bounce, and Grit.
