NASA has launched NASA+, its innovative free and ad-free on-demand streaming service. This new experience is accessible through apps on iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV.
Introducing the audience to the new ad-free streaming platform offered by NASA. This initiative marks the entry of the U.S. space agency into the on-demand streaming market.
With this recent update, NASA completes a series of announced improvements in recent months, involving its official website, the website dedicated to scientific research and climate data, and the revamped mobile app.
Nasa + for space esploration
NASA+ will become the go-to destination for all enthusiasts eager to stay updated on the latest developments in space exploration. The Piattaforma will offer various sections with news and stories suitable for the whole family, live event coverage, exclusive interviews, and a series of original videos, such as those focused on images from the James Webb Space Telescope.
For younger audiences, animated shows about planets, mysteries of the universe, and intergalactic worlds will be available. The platform will also include personal stories of astronauts and high-definition images of the cosmos.
Mobile app
Through the new NASA mobile app, users will have free access to a wide range of content, including an archive of over 21,000 images, solar system exploration features, podcasts, and the opportunity to spot and monitor the International Space Station (ISS) with geolocated notifications.
The revamped interface of the new mobile app will also allow users to read the latest news and view, rate, and share images. Additionally, through augmented reality (AR), users can explore, rotate, and enlarge 3D models of NASA rockets, spacecraft, and rovers.
Marc Etkind, Associate Administrator of the Office of Communications, stated: “This is the catalyst behind some of humanity’s greatest stories, and now, with our new digital presence, everyone will have access to these stories 24/7.”
