RTL Deutschland is consolidating its brand and marketing, cross-media, and consumer products divisions into a unified central division, headed by Thorsten Braun.

Braun, the former managing director of channel Super RTL and chief consumer products officer at RTL Deutschland, will oversee brand strategy, positioning, and development.

His responsibilities include integrated campaign conception and the implementation of marketing activities across all target groups and platforms within brand portfolio.

Additionally, Braun will play a key role in creating and strengthening cross-media projects, as well as managing the licensing and merchandising business for Deutschland’s extensive portfolio of around 350 brands.

Simultaneously, Oliver Schablitzki, a programming executive, assumes the position of managing director. Meanwhile, Julian Weiss, former chief marketing officer at RTL Deutschland, has decided to leave the company to pursue new entrepreneurial challenges.

Commenting on these changes, Stephan Schmitter, the incoming CEO of RTL Deutschland, praised Thorsten Braun’s experience in content, brand, and marketing, expressing confidence in his ability to successfully integrate the various divisions and drive strategic expansion.

Schmitter also welcomed Oliver Schablitzki back to Super RTL, highlighting his past success in content development across multiple platforms. Acknowledging Julian Weiss’s contributions to shaping RTL Deutschland’s brand identity, Schmitter thanked him and wished him success in his future endeavors.
