Channel 4, a prominent UK broadcaster, has embraced the FAST revolution by introducing its inaugural international channels in collaboration with streaming platforms Tubi, Plex, and Xumo Play.
These two channels, namely 4 Adventure and 4 Emergency, will be accessible on the US versions of the aforementioned streaming platforms, granting millions of US viewers free access to a vast library of Channel 4 content, alongside other British programming.

Alex Wall, Channel 4’s Head of Streaming Editorial for the UK & International audience, expressed, “The launch of our first international channels marks a significant milestone for Channel 4 and unveils a multitude of exciting opportunities.
These channels will introduce American audiences to popular shows that encapsulate our core brand values, imparting Channel 4’s unique tone and our rich British culture into the US FAST market.”
Wall also highlighted how this move presents a fantastic opportunity to diversify their revenue streams, with more deals in the pipeline, fostering anticipation for this new chapter in Channel 4’s journey.
4 Adventure will feature a diverse array of reality and documentary programs centered around survival challenges and endurance, including titles like Shipwrecked and The Island With Bear Grylls.
On the other hand, 4 Emergency will offer US viewers a glimpse into the frontline of British health and emergency response systems, featuring programs such as 24 Hours In A&E, Emergency Helicopter Medics, Emergency Rescue: Air, Land & Sea, and Paramedics: On The Frontline (known as 999: On The Frontline in the UK).
The FAST channels for Channel 4
These FAST Channels signify a fresh venture for Channel 4, enabling them to export British content and provide British indies with greater international exposure and opportunities. Boasting nearly 250 channels, offers viewers a captivating and immersive experience across various genres, and the addition of Channel 4’s programming is expected to entertain and captivate their audience.
Shawn Eldridge shared the excitement surrounding the Channel 4 partnership. Underlining how the inclusion of Channel 4’s premium content like 4 Adventure and 4 Emergency contributes to Plex’s diverse and entertaining selection of FAST channels.
To support the delivery of its content on the FAST channels, Channel 4 has enlisted the assistance of Amagi, Broadcast Intelligence, and Gracenote. Additionally, further announcements of similar partnerships with other platforms are anticipated later in the year.
