The Film Club is a streaming platform, created to showcase to the Italian audience (geoblocked for Italy) films that are not available elsewhere and thus preserve the memory of cinema.

With a vast catalog and weekly updates, it ensures its audience a wide selection of titles and entertainment. In addition to titles from Minerva Pictures Group, the project’s creator, viewers can now find series from La7, Feltrinelli, and Cecchi Gori Home Entertainment.

Among the titles, classic films starring Alberto Sordi like “Il Marchese del Grillo,” the series “Victoria,” and all the b-movies from the “Sharknado” series produced by The Asylum can be found. A catalog that covers 360 degrees of a whole family’s desires.

The business model: SVOD

The business model is SVOD (Subscription Video On Demand) with an important difference compared to its competitors: users can choose from various available subscriptions, but these are divided based on selectable channels.

That division into channels according to a UX-optimized system was an interesting customization developed on the VODEVO platform, on which the entire system is based.

Various subscriptions is like for the most important OTT platforms (Netflix, Paramount+, Disney plus, …), can be purchased only from the desktop through a dedicated page easily accessible to the user.

Once the subscription is obtained, the user accesses the area with all the active films for the type of subscription subscribed. The more subscriptions the user purchases, the more content they can watch, without any limits.

The streaming platform devices

Film Club is a comprehensive OTT platform. The choice of devices through which to access the catalog is wide. It is possible to download the following applications from their respective stores:

• Android TV

The Film Club also has two important integrations, which are specialties of Vodevolution:

• The application for the Tim Vision TV Box by Telecom

• The two functions for Chromecast and Airplay on the mobile and tablet apps

The backend has a cutting-edge system for analyzing the data generated by users. Viewing minutes, favorite categories, the top 10 most viewed films, and the most purchased channel are all data saved in our databases and are used to create a better experience for subscribers.

All technical management of the software and hardware is handled by Vodevolution on a daily basis, including customer service for both subscribed and non-subscribed users.

From a hardware perspective, the channel is equipped with unlimited bandwidth and storage provided directly by us, as well as a load balancer to manage traffic spikes.
