Roku is expanding its range of products for the smart home by adding an easy-to-install intelligent security system that can connect with the manufacturer’s smart TVs.

The new Home Monitoring System SE includes a keypad, a hub with a siren, a motion sensor, and two door or window sensors. The system is expandable, and installation and monitoring can be done using the Roku Smart Home app. Additionally, users have the option to subscribe to a 24/7 professional monitoring service through Noonlight.

The system of Roku

This system born in collaboration with Wyze, and it integrates with set-top boxes and smart TVs. The company is also optimizing camera integration by adding event history to its Cameras app for smart TVs.

This allows users to view recorded events from any connected camera and doorbell, in addition to live streaming. The app will automatically download recordings to the TV in the “Events” tab, but a Roku Smart Home subscription is required to utilize this feature.

A new integration of voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, usable through theremote or smartphone app, allows for controlling the brand’s smart lights and outlets and accessing a live feed from the camera on TVs.

Voice integration also enables control over the color of the new Smart Light Strip Plus SE, which can be purchased separately starting at $34.99.

The price

The Home Monitoring System SE is priced at $99, while the professional monitoring service costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year with a 50% discount for the first year for annual subscribers.

Starting from June, a new solar panel will be available for $24.99 to keep the battery-powered Roku Outdoor Camera SE charged. Currently, there are no plans for Italian market availability.
