The channel My5 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel launched in 1997. It is the fifth national terrestrial channel in the United Kingdom and is owned by Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American media conglomerate Paramount Global, which is grouped under Paramount Networks UK & Australia division.

My5 Channel lanuches streaming on Sky Stream

The British public service Channel 5 has launched its ad-supported streaming service, My5, on SkyGlass and Sky Stream earlier this week.

The platform offers on-demand access to a wide range of Channel 5 content as well as the broadcaster’s 5Star, 5USA, 5Select, and 5Action channels.

On Sky Glass and Sky Stream, viewers will be able to access My5 through the app bar on the homepage, via the app and input menu, or by using the voice recognition tool to say “Hello Sky My 5” on Glass or via the voice button on the Sky Glass or Sky Stream remote.

Sky customers who add Channel 5 programs to their playlist will play the content through the app, similar to what happens with BBC, ITVX, STV Player, and All4.

My5’s programming includes new Channel 5 commissions such as Ruby Wax: Castaway and the psychological thriller The Catch, as well as children’s favorites like Paw Patrol, Pip and Posy, and more. My5 has recorded its third consecutive year of growth in terms of streaming and viewing time.
